Moss picture guide: Care
-
Avoid intense sun or light exposure
Reindeer moss is very sensitive to direct sunlight or too much light. So make sure that your moss pictures are not permanently exposed to the sun or too much light. You should especially avoid halogen spotlights, as they give off too much heat and can damage the moss.
-
Pay attention to the indoor climate
The room climate plays an important role in the maintenance of moss pictures made from reindeer moss. Extreme humidity (>70%) or very dry air can damage the moss. Therefore, make sure that the humidity in your room is appropriate and do not hang the moss pictures near fireplaces, heaters or other heat sources.

also important
Clean your moss pictures regularly
By preserving reindeer moss, the plants hardly take any dust. If necessary, however, you can carefully clean your moss pictures with a feather duster or a damp cloth. However, avoid too much moisture and don't press the moss too hard, as this can damage it.

Danger
Do not water or spray your moss paintings
Although reindeer moss looks perfectly natural, you should not water or spray it. As a result of the preservation, the moss no longer has any roots and cannot absorb moisture. Watering or spraying the moss can cause mold or rot to develop.

Opinion
Enjoy the uniqueness of your moss picture
Reindeer moss is a natural product and each moss picture is unique. It can therefore happen that the individual balls differ in shape and color and deviate from the product image. This is completely normal and gives your moss picture a special uniqueness.
